About Dr. Yau
Dr. Yau joined North Dallas Surgical Specialists in 2006. He grew up in the Dallas area and graduated as valedictorian from Plano East Senior High School in 1988. He attended Princeton University where he studied molecular biology and East Asian studies. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Yau returned to Dallas to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School where he trained and received board certification in vascular surgery, general surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Yau concentrates his work as a vascular specialist using open surgical procedures as well as minimally-invasive treatment of arterial and venous disease. With a state-of-the-art angiosuite procedure room, he is able to perform minimally-invasive endovascular procedures without the risks of general anesthesia. Dr. Yau’s surgical interests are in the treatment of aortic aneurysms, peripheral artery disease and carotid artery disease. Among the procedures he can provide are the Excimer laser atherectomy, Silverhawk mechanical atherectomy, cryoplasty, thrombolysis and stenting. In addition, Dr. Yau introduced carotid stenting and endovascular repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms at Baylor Medical Center at Garland, providing his patients with the latest advances in medical technology.
Dr. Yau shares his time with his wife, who is a practicing gynecologist at Medical City, and his twins. He enjoys tennis, architecture and design, as well as fellowship and service at his local church.
