About Dr. Chris J. Cottrell, M.D. FACS

Dr. Cottrell was born March 13, 1972. After graduating high school in San Antonio, he earned his undergraduate degree in business from Texas Tech. He then entered Texas Tech University School of Medicine where he graduated in 1999 9th in a class of 135.

While completing his general surgery training at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Cottrell distinguished himself as Outstanding Resident in General Surgery in 2004. He also served as president of the residency council.

Dr. Cottrell joined North Dallas Surgical Specialists in 2005. His interests include advanced laparoscopic procedures, endocrine surgery and wound care. He is board certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

In his spare time Dr. Cottrell enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young daughters. He also enjoys cooking, computers, photography and cycling.
